the basics.

Price, machine and getting your tabs across.

Does Terrava cost anything?

No. Free, with no account to create and no tier above this one.

Which Macs run it?

macOS 15 or later, Apple silicon and Intel. On-device summaries need an M-series chip.

How much disk does it take?

96 MB to download, 240 MB installed. One universal binary, signed and notarised.

What happens to my tabs from Safari or Chrome?

Tabs, bookmarks, history and extensions come across on first launch, including the tabs you forgot. Arc and Firefox import too.

02

privacy.

What leaves the Mac and what does not.

Is there an account?

No. No account, no sync server, nothing to sign in to.

What does Terrava send about me?

A version number on update checks. Crash reports are opt-in and stripped of URLs. There is no analytics SDK in the binary.

Where do my passwords live?

In iCloud Keychain, the same place the rest of your Mac keeps them. Terrava stores none of its own.

What happens if I lose the Mac?

History, cookies and cache are sealed with a key held in the Secure Enclave. Losing the Mac loses the data.

Extensions, summaries and what a sleeping tab keeps.

Do my extensions work?

WebExtensions run per space with per-site permission. An extension in Work never sees a tab in Personal.

Where do the summaries run?

On the Neural Engine. A long page becomes 4 lines and no request leaves the Mac, so it works on your intranet and on a plane.

What happens to a tab that goes to sleep?

It releases memory in seconds and restores scroll position, form state and video timestamp on wake.

Is Terrava a Chromium wrapper?

No. It was written against AppKit around a tuned WebKit, not wrapped around a web view.

that is the whole list.

Free, no account, macOS 15 or later.
